Responsibilities in this role will include:
- Assist driller with daily drilling operations including but not limited to geotechnical and environmental drilling
- Perform drilling operation duties primarily related to geotechnical and environmental projects that include:
- Monitor well installation projects
- Soil water and gas sampling
- Insitu chemical injections
- Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers earth tampers cement mixers small mechanical hoists surveying and measuring equipment and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites dig trenches set braces to support the sides of excavations erect scaffolding and clean up rubble debris and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.
- Equipment Installation: Carry out standard installation activities under detailed guidance. Troubleshoot basic technical or operational problems by applying previously defined solutions.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Operational Compliance: Develop working knowledge of the organizations policies and procedures and of regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work adhering to mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required standards.
- Work Scheduling and Allocation: Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities.
- Health Safety and Environment: Follow a range of mandatory procedures and methods of work (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
- Operating Machine or Equipment: Operate complex equipment and machines adjusting diverse variables to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of quality and productivity. Also responsible for generating solutions to simple and recurring inefficiencies.
- Operations Management: Carry out operational tasks by following established processes. This will involve adjusting multiple settings or parameters to meet performance standards.
- Internal Communications: Support in using the internal communications system to access specific information on request.
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair : Carry out standard maintenance and repair activities under detailed guidance. Troubleshoot basic technical or operational problems by applying previously defined solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Carry out relatively simple testing and quality assurance tasks.
For success in this position you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good mechanical skills
- Comfortable working in an outdoor environment
- Able and willing to travel overnight and perform field work travel expenses covered
- Must have valid Driver License with acceptable violation history
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Education- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience- General Experience: Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (7 to 12 months)
