We are seeking a skilled Ready Mix Plant Manager to join our team. This role is critical to the daily operations of a ready mix plant and involves managing operations processing customer orders dispatching deliveries delivering concrete and completing all tasks necessary for the successful operation of the plant. This position provides a diverse work environment collaborating with different contractors and projects daily. The Ready Mix Plant Manager takes ownership of the role by ensuring concrete quality maintaining courteous customer relations and working with a team that feels like family.
Duties: Including but not limited to:
- Batch concrete using manual and computerized systems.
- Understand different mix designs visually inspect mixes for proper materials verify load sizes to tickets check slump and make adjustments as needed.
- Process customer orders and determine yardage.
- Schedule available trucks to meet order schedules efficiently.
- Prepare daily and weekly run schedules to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Order and coordinate deliveries from suppliers and manage internal inventory.
- Possess a basic understanding of concrete finishing problems and their causes.
- Troubleshoot issues in a dry batch concrete plant and with mixer trucks.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and courteously completing deliveries collecting payments and fostering future business.
- Lead train and motivate employees while resolving grievances and completing disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Promote a safe work environment and facilitate weekly management and safety meetings.
- Balance profitability with business reinvestment.
- Maintain and account for all assigned equipment including vehicles plant and shop ensuring a clean organized and safe workplace.
- Complete all required paperwork and administrative duties including payroll invoice approvals ticketing and inventory management using computers tablets or cell phones.
- Operate a ready mix truck as needed while complying with DOT regulations performing pre- and post-trip inspections and completing necessary maintenance.
- Demonstrate a team player mentality and willingness to cross-train in dispatching batching mechanics and other plant functions.
- Perform duties outside the normal scope of work as needed.
Qualifications:
- Consent to pre-employment work screen Motor Vehicle Record request and drug test.
- Class A or B CDL with current Medical DOT card.
- ACI certification and working knowledge of ACI tests.
- Basic knowledge of concrete finishing problems and their causes.
- Self-motivated and able to solve problems proactively.
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable and reliable showing up prepared and on time for scheduled shifts.
- Positive attitude to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
- Comfortable with continuous exposure to weather elements including heat cold noise dust and outdoor conditions.
- Overnight travel may be required occasionally.
