We are currently collaborating with a leading specialist company in modular services and infrastructure which is looking to recruit a Purchasing Director based in Lisbon or Madrid.
Reporting to the Global Operations Director you will be responsible for managing the purchasing function in four business units (Benelux Italy Iberia and Eastern Europe).
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support local purchasing managers ensuring consistent implementation of initiatives.
Develop and implement a regional purchasing strategy aligned with group objectives.
Monitor and report on purchasing savings ensuring traceability and impact on gross margin and direct cost reduction.
Drive supplier base optimisation and demand aggregation across all countries.
Establish governance and reporting mechanisms to track purchasing performance and compliance.
Identify capability gaps and lead purchasing talent development across the region.
Collaborate with finance directors and country managing directors to ensure that procurement savings are reflected in budget planning.
Act as the companys representative in group-level procurement forums and transformation workflows.
Ensure the implementation of risk mitigation strategies taking into account inflation wage increases and consumption variability.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in leading procurement functions across multi-country operations.
Strong understanding of P&L dynamics and financial impact of procurement activities.
Expertise in strategic sourcing supplier management and cost optimisation.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience in transformation programmes and change management is highly desirable.
Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.
