Job Summary

MUST HAVE FLU VACCINE ***Start date will be no less than 2 weeks after fingerprint cards are received by SEARHC for processing*** Provides support to surgical team by operating endoscopic devises ensuring instruments are sterile and conform to high-level disinfection standards. Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the JobCollaborates with members of the surgical and multidisciplinary teams in assessing planning and implementing surgical intervention in management of patient s peri-operative health care and for inventory of supplies outdates and par levels notifying appropriate staff with supply order initiative in reporting equipment in need of breaks in aseptic techniques by any person in order to provide optimum to the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Standards of Care and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards for sterilization practices in the Health Care services to all hospital inpatient wards the operating room outpatient clinics and the emergency monitors biologicals to ensure sterility and adhering to equipment processing regulation to ensure personnel for daily biologicals on autoclaves and Steris monthly biological monitoring and number of items flashed in the autoclaves to the OR Manager; reports failed loads positive biologicals and wet loads FunctionsOther duties as assigned Education Certifications and Licenses Required:Basic Life SupportHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredClinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years Experience Required:One to two years Endoscopy experience preferred Knowledge of:Endoscopic procedures and how scopes and instrumentation are used for each procedure Skills in:Proper use of all sterilization and HLD (high level disinfection) equipment as well as the decontamination process prep and package sterile storage and distribution Ability to:Use aggressive patient management techniques to diffuse any patient/visitor/peer volatile situations

Shift: Rotating shifts each week between these 2 schedules: Tuesday through Friday 8am-6pm and Tuesday through Friday 6am-4pm. Each shift requires call time to include call time on weekends as well.
