Responsibilities

  • Ensure food is prepared with proper portion control and consistent quality.
  • Oversee and train junior kitchen staff such as commis chefs.
  • Monitor and manage inventory
  • Maintain strict adherence to all health safety and food hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order.

Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment with 2 years of experience.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various techniques.
    • Organizational multitasking and time management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

REQUIREMENTS: Matric Culinary Diploma preferred Preferably /- 4 years previous experience in a senior chef role Work experience as a Sushi Chef or at an Asian restaurant Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques Own transport with valid drivers license Ability to work both fast and accurately Leadership and management skills Able to work in a team Basic computer skills (word excel outlook) Exceptional customer-service skills Excellent written & oral communication skills Strong organizational skills Attention to detail Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings public holidays weekends) Ability to work under pressure Creative problem-solving skills
