Job Summary

KBR is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our team at our Colorado Springs CO Cygnet Heights office. The selected candidate will operate under the direct supervision of a senior engineer and support projects around ground-based mobile satellite communication systems and radio frequency engineering. The Electrical Engineer Intern will receive direct mentorship in being able to research develop plan design and integrate electrical products and systems. This position will apply principles and techniques of electrical engineering to support engineering staff on projects and solve engineering problems in all phases of design development integration/implementation analysis and testing.

Roles and Responsibilities

Assist in research design modify develop and evaluate systems products components and applications by applying fundamental electrical engineering principles

Apply electrical engineering principles in areas of RF power AC/DC circuit communications and software

Validate vendor equipment performance and capabilities by developing testing methods performing tests and documenting test results

Support senior engineers with final system performance through execution of test procedures and data analysis

Troubleshoot and resolve systems for satellite/radio frequency communications and power distribution

May perform site surveys and field installations with project teams

Communicate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines manufacturing personnel management vendors customers and subcontractors.

Support engineering documentation i.e. drawings project specifications procedures test data and results

Abide by company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks

Must hold a valid drivers license and have the ability to obtain a US DOD security clearance

Basic Qualifications

Must be a U.S. citizen and have valid documentation

Must be currently enrolled at or have recently graduated from an ABET accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of RF systems

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week

Salary Range: $20-$30/hr

The salary range posted is based on Colorado Springs CO. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates location knowledge skills abilities and/or experience contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.
