What We Offer:

  • Earning Potential: $110000 - $130000 including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances Inclusive of super
  • $38.7433 - $43.7132 per hour depending on skills and experience
  • Tool Allowance: $17.90 payable weekly
  • Attendance Allowance: $32 payable on rostered worked hours

Role Responsibilities:

This role requires a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:

  • Assess damage to the bus body panels and structures providing accurate estimates for repair work.
  • Remove and replace damaged panels hoods fenders and other body components using hand and power tools
  • Straighten and repair bent or damaged frame and body structure ensuring it complies with OEM specifications
    Perform welding and fabrication work as needed to restore structure
  • Blend and finish repaired areas to prepare for painting ensuring a smooth and uniform finish
  • Undertaking the preparation and cleaning of all surfaces prior to any paint application taking place this may include filing grinding and sanding the body of a vehicle to restore a smooth vehicle surface
  • Provide all body structural accident damage and associated repairs service and maintenance to vehicles as required. Work on associated components to complete whole tasks within the skill level of the position
  • Provide maintenance preparation replacement and repairs to all vehicle body components panels frames and door systems
  • Manufacture service and fit vehicle components constructed from such materials as aluminum timber steel stainless steel glass fiberglass sealing and bonding materials
  • Demonstrating andmaintaining clean workshop practices in your day-to-day role and ensuring that these practices meet the high standards held by the Workshops team
  • Ensuring that all maintenance and repairs are performed according to company policies and procedures and are recorded on the designated forms and documents provided
  • Maintaining and performing all workshop practices in a manner that adheres to all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations

Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.

You can expect to be provided with all necessary training this will include relevant information about our various makes and models of vehicles to ensure a thorough understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.

The Successful Applicant Will:
  • Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
  • Certificate lll in Automotive Body Repair Technology
  • Proven experience as a Body Builder/Panel Beater particular with larger vehicles
  • Have experience in the service and maintenance of vehicles (training provided to develop these skills)
  • Strong knowledge of the bus body construction repair techniques including welding and metalworking
  • Ensure adherence and understanding to WHS regulations and relevant company policies
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
  • Apply a proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role
  • Be willing toundergoa pre-employment medical check and working with children check.
  • Be an Australian Citizen Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Hold a current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
Highly Regarded but Not Necessary:
  • Medium Rigid (MR) or above Australian drivers licence
