Penrose - St. Francis Health Services is a full-service 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospital - Interquest. Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 300-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Established in 1890 Penrose Hospital has grown to become a major health treatment and referral center specializing in cancer care cardiac care emergency trauma care and physical rehabilitation. At St. Francis Hospital one of our established Magnet hospitals the Intensive Care Unit has 14 beds. Our departments specialty is Critical Care to include Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) proning and protocols for sepsis stroke hypothermia mass transfusions and OB hemorrhage to name just a few. We treat medical and surgical critically ill adult patients 18 years and older Level III trauma patients 15 and older OB emergency patients related to seizure and hemorrhage and we get overflow from Med/Surg related to capacity.

We collaborate with ancillary departments at a daily patient rounding event and our teamwork is led by a group of readily approachable intensivists who offer education. We value our incredible Certified Nursing Assistants and want to ensure they practice at the top of their license to better optimize their skills and experience. Weve also developed a career path framework for CNAs that clarifies paths to move develop and advance CNA careers into nursing and other roles. The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day qualified candidates will need the following:

• Six months previous CNA experience preferred
• Ability to read write speak and understand English
• Basic computer skills
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• High School diploma or GED required
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
• State registered CNA license required
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1 holds

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs frequently and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
