Job Summary

We invite applications for the temporary position of:

1.0 FTE Grades 8-12 Teacher: Indigenous Support 8-12 BC First Peoples 12 English First Peoples New Media 11
Indigenous Ancestry required

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Knowledge of the 8-12 curriculum and PLOs
Awareness of Indigenous pedagogy and world view
Experience with formative assessment
Familiar with the First Peoples Principles of Learning
Monitor student attendance behavior academic performance and graduation progress.
Ability to provide appropriate interventions for Indigenous students and families
Skills and experience in meeting I.E.P. goals
Provide individualized academic support and monitor student progress.
Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure culturally responsive education.
Utilize systems to track academic data and report regularly to the Indigenous Education Department.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative Indigenous Education team
Recent experience showing involvement with/and in maintaining links with Indigenous community
