Job Title: Research Services Laboratory Professional (Open Rank Entry or Intermediate)

Job Summary: | This Research Services Laboratory Professional position will work with Dr. Ester Oh a new Assistant Professor in the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to conduct translational studies spanning cells animal models and human participants. The research focuses on evaluating the effects of various interventions on vascular function in the context of chronic kidney disease. The primary responsibilities include administering interventions and assessing vascular function in mice performing biochemical and histological analyses in mouse tissues and conducting biochemical analyses in blood and circulating or vascular cells from human subjects. The position may also provide opportunities to assist with ongoing human clinical studies. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders with laboratory and research functions. Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques required for research projects (including but not limited to mouse handling and dissection cell and tissue staining (IF) western blot/protein arrays and ELISA PCR etc.). Perform experiments and tabulate and analyze research. Prepare lab for daily operations including stocking materials equipment safety cleanliness and related areas. Provide animal care related to research studies as necessary. Pick up transport and maintain results samples documents materials and other items as needed. Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable laws rules and regulations; receive guidance and direction or escalate when required.

Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Entry Level: Intermediate Level: Bachelors degree in biochemistry biology molecular biology chemistry physiology or related field. One (1) year professional level research experience which includes hands-on wet laboratory work and experience with mouse handling.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in biology molecular biology chemistry genetics or related field. Two (2) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory including mouse handling. Prior experience in biochemistry molecular biology or similar field.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Knowledge of basic human anatomy physiology and medical terminology. Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information. Organized and motivated and takes the initiative to make sure projects move forward. Ability to work independently with occasional guidance.
