Quality Staffing Inc. also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the areas top companies is looking for anexperienced Environmental Scientist 1towork through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TN EC) located in Johnson City TN. This is a hybrid position working from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is $39.00 per hour.
Environmental Scientist Job Overview:
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is seeking an Environmental Scientist who can provide excellent customer service and can effectively communicate with a diverse internal and external customer base. The preferred candidate will possess strong time management and organizational skills and must be willing to perform fieldwork in rural areas construction sites and in all weather conditions and perform frequent day travel.
Duties and Responsibilities for Environmental Scientist position will include:
- Acquiring and maintaining a working knowledge of rules governing Subsurface Sewage Disposal Systems and State Operating Permits.
- Reading and interpreting maps providing guidance and creating diagrams.
- Writing and reviewing technical reports and inspections documents.
- Applying rules and regulations to a variety of compliance situations.
- Maintaining digital permit files records and reports.
- Operating a state vehicle and driving to remote sites to perform inspections.
- Ability to communicate with varied individuals or customers.
Education Experience and Qualification Requirements for Environmental Scientist position:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in environmental science physical sciences (e.g. physics chemistry geology meteorology) ecology sustainability or applied science in sustainability life sciences (e.g. biology microbiology health physics or biophysics) environmental health pre-medicine engineering or other acceptable science or natural resource related field.
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle operators license.
- Must have completed the required college course work at the time of job selection to be eligible to take the licensing examination offered by Tennessees Department of Commerce and Insurances Board of Professional Geologists ORhold and maintain a current Geologic license from the State of Tennessee during employment OR hold a current Geologic license from another state that Tennessee has evaluated and granted reciprocal licensing rights.
