This role requires working Arizona Time (AZT) or Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours to align with business needs.
This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus Ohio Des Moines Iowa or Scottsdale Arizona office 2 days (Wednesday & Thursday) per week. Remote internal associates may also be considered.
This Director Delivery Leader supports Nationwide Pet and reports to the Pet BSA Leader. The pet insurance market is growing fast with premium growth averaging above 20% and more carriers are coming online. To compete in that market the Pet strategy is to diversify products and channels while modernizing its digital chassis. Technology is key to delivering on the business strategy. We are looking for a strong leader excelling in people leadership program/project portfolio management and fostering strong business partner relationships.
The Director Delivery Leader will have responsibility for:
Delivery: Activate a modernized digital chassis enable expansion of sales channels and launchmajor projects for our business partners. Provide oversight and guidance in business and technology projects to ensure that business outcomes are achieved.
Hiring and developing Delivery Leaders who manage work efforts. Ensure all Delivery Leader resources have an understanding and training to execute projects aligned with Nationwides current technology trends and Pets business strategy.
Partner Relationships Work to establish a portfolio view of Build projects at each business unit level and share data on a monthly level at the portfolio review sessions.
Work with the Technology leadership team to mitigate and resolve risk and issues across the project portfolio; improve processes and implement new ideas.

Planview and Jira skills Understanding and utilization of project management tools.

Manages and consults on complex and/or project/product financials.
Serves as the top professional/coach to others around delivering business outcomes benefit realization agile delivery and Lean.
Active profession participant through communities of practice industry involvement and/or standards organizations.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Executive Delivery Leader or Business Solution Area Executive; responsible for 4-8 directs and in-directs.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies (bachelors degree preferred) in management information systems engineering math computer science data analytics or comparable experience and education strongly preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications or PMI SAFE Agile or Lean designations are encouraged.
Experience: Ten or more years of experience in technology or related field. Five years demonstrated proficiency in delivering outcomes/projects. Three to five years of management experience is preferred. Awareness of new technologies and/or industry trends.
Knowledge Abilities and Skills: Ability to make decisions and recommendations. Aptitude to influence establish relationships and set priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of associates senior management and/or vendors. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria including leadership skills competencies and experiences may take precedence.
