Job Description

The Montgomery College Department of Humanities is currently accepting applications for a possible opening as a part-time faculty member teaching courses in ASLP. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor who exhibits a high degree of professionalism a strong commitment to our students and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

• The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Managements sole discretion.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Teach assigned courses related to history
• Teach a varied schedule of courses that may include day night weekend late starting and/or accelerated sections
• Teach at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus
• Incorporate relevant and empathetic pedagogies to the teaching and learning process
• Incorporate relevant technologies such as Blackboard into instruction

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in ASL or a closely related discipline
• Knowledge of and commitment to the community college philosophy and mission
• Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.
• Ability to teach in a multicultural setting
• Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in ASL or a related discipline

For degrees earned outside of the U.S. a copy of your education equivalency conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service must be included in your application.

Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC VA PA WV DE MA).
