Job Summary
Are you a Social Science trainee teacher excited by the idea of teaching highly motivated students in a grammar school setting Do you want strong subject mentoring and time to develop your craft If so wed love to hear from you.
We are seeking a Psychology/Sociology ECT to join a selective 1118 grammar school in Cambridge from January 2026.

The Role
- Position: Psychology/Sociology ECT
- Location: Cambridge
- Start Date: January 2026
- Contract: Permanent Full-Time
You will:
- Teach Psychology and/or Sociology at KS4 and KS5 (with a carefully structured timetable).
- Follow well-established schemes of work while gradually taking more ownership.
- Receive a reduced timetable in line with ECT entitlements.
- Have a named ECT mentor within the faculty and subject-specific support.
- Contribute to enrichment such as Social Science clubs academic societies or talks as you develop.
What Were Looking For
- Currently completing ITT in Psychology Sociology or a related Social Science.
- Strong academic background and subject knowledge.
- Confidence in working with high-attaining pupils (support will be provided).
- Reflective organised and open to coaching.
