Job Summary

Job Summary:

This position is for a Physical Therapist in an acute care setting. The therapist will be responsible for providing physical therapy services to patients working as part of a team to ensure quality patient care. The role requires weekend availability and flexibility in start times within established guidelines.

Responsibilities:

- Provide physical therapy services to patients in an acute care setting.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Assist patients in their routine activities of daily living.
- Perform range of motion exercises.
- Ambulate patients.
- Position patients and provide skin care.
- Assist with feeding and meal delivery.
- Assist with routine hygiene care including toileting and incontinent care as well as appropriate oral and personal hygiene.
- Collect patient data and specimens.
- Obtain and record health weights vital signs including pulse oximetry and pain assessment and I&O.
- Communicate patient status and reports changes in patient condition to licensed professional.
- Perform incentive spirometry.
- Transport patients.
- Prepare for diagnostic tests.
- Assist rehab therapists.
- Perform pulse oximetry/oxygen set up in oxygen therapy.
- Prepare room (supplies).
- Provide post mortem care.
- Prepare for admission and discharge.
- Assist nurse in emergency situations.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Perform suction (oral naso pharynx).
- Perform blood sugar finger sticks.
- Remove IV catheters per licensed nurse instruction.
- Perform EKGs (department specific responsibility).
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Perform selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs.
- Notify appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist
- BLS certification
- WA PT License

Special Considerations:

- Must be comfortable working every 4th weekend (minimum).
- No ****s accepted.
- RTO must be included at the time of submittal.
Scheduling:
- 5x8 Day Shift
- Flexible start times between 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM with all shifts ending at 6:30 PM.
- Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 week period.
