Diesel Mechanic - Addo (PE)

Purpose of the Role
To provide expert mechanical support across yellow metal machinery earth-moving equipment and heavy-duty trucks. The role ensures optimal performance safety and reliability of all diesel-powered fleet and equipment through preventative maintenance diagnostics and effective repairs.Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on yellow metals earth-moving machines and trucks.
- Diagnose mechanical electrical and hydraulic faults and conduct repairs to manufacturer standards.
- Overhaul engines transmissions braking systems and other critical components.
- Inspect equipment thoroughly to identify wear damage or potential failures.
- Complete breakdown call-outs and field repairs when required.
- Ensure all repairs comply with OEM specifications company standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre- and post-maintenance testing to verify reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate service records job cards and reports.
- Use diagnostic equipment tools and systems to troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Ensure proper use care and calibration of workshop tools and machinery.
- Assist with maintaining workshop cleanliness safety protocols and tool control.
- Liaise with supervisors regarding job priorities required parts and equipment downtime.
- Provide guidance to assistants or apprentices as needed.
- Engage in continuous improvement of maintenance processes and fleet uptime.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal or equivalent).
- 35 years experience working on yellow metal / earth-moving equipment and heavy-duty trucks.
- Strong diagnostic skills (mechanical electrical hydraulic).
- Valid drivers license (Code 14 advantageous).
- Ability to work independently under pressure and within tight operational timelines.
- Willingness to work overtime shifts standby and attend breakdowns off-site when needed.
