Starrycare is seeking a skilled and organised Production Chef to support learners in a real working kitchen oversee daily food production and maintain the highest standards of safety quality and sustainability within the Waterfront kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Support and mentor learners in a real work environment ensuring adherence to health & safety and food safety regulations.
Oversee daily kitchen operations including preparing and cooking high-quality meals for service.
Manage food orders and work closely with the Head Technician to ensure accurate and timely procurement.
Complete and maintain all documentation related to safe working practices to required standards.
Work collaboratively with the team to deliver theme evenings open events and innovative menu offerings.
Incorporate sustainable locally sourced or seasonal produce into menu planning.
Ensure all kitchen activities align with business objectives and contribute to operational excellence.
Requirements
Professional chef qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent).
Experience working in a busy commercial kitchen or catering environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety HACCP and relevant health & safety regulations.
Experience mentoring or supporting learners/apprentices (desirable).
Ability to produce high-quality meals consistently and work effectively under pressure.
Strong organisational teamwork and communication skills.
Commitment to sustainability creativity and delivering an exceptional dining experience.
