Job Duties:

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is interested in a Family Medicine physician to join the UW Health Belleville Clinic. This physician faculty will practice full-spectrum family medicine in the inpatient and outpatient settings with maternity care (OB) being optional. This position will be involved in teaching of residents medical students and other learners. This position will include academic scholarly work.

Duties will include provision of clinical care of patients with maternity care if applicable and teaching/supervision of residents medical students and other learners. Teaching occurs in both clinical settings and in formal scheduled learning sessions. Time and other departmental and campus-wide resources are available to promote scholarly work in the candidates area(s) of interest.

This position includes participating in residency faculty call schedule covering inpatient med/peds or OB or potentially both. Faculty are expected to attend required departmental meetings and perform administrative duties as necessary to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. There may be an expectation for nursing home visits. This position may also include opportunities to work on collaborative initiatives within UW-SMPH & UW Health.

  • This position is full or part time 50%-100%.

  • This position requires work to be completed onsite at a designated campus work location.

  • This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Assistant Professor (CHS) Associate Professor (CHS) Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

  • Teach medical students residents and fellows.

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) at the University of Wisconsin is a leading clinical department within the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). Required Qualifications:

  • WI medial license or eligible for license by start date of position.

  • Board-certified or board eligible by American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) by start date of position.

  • Completion of a US Family Medicine residency by the start date of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.

Education:

MD or DO or equivalent required.
