We are now seekingRegistered Nurses with acute clinical nursing experience to join our innovativeUrgent Care Clinic (UCC) providing urgent non-emergency care to reduce pressure on hospital emergency departments.

About the Role

  • Location: Lilydale VIC
  • Hours: 7 days a week 3.0010.00pm PM shifts available
  • Employment Type:Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028

About You

If you enjoy a fast-paced environment with the ability to maintain composure in high pressured environments and possess outstanding interpersonal communication time management skills this might be the role for you

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Div 1)
  • 3 years of acute clinical nursing experience
  • Emergency Department experience triage or postgraduate qualifications in emergency / critical care or the ability to demonstrate comprehensive patient assessment
  • Experience with both adult and paediatric patients
  • Accredited Nurse Immunisation Certificate
  • Must follow AHC Infectious disease policy & wear PPE when required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs MedicalDirector Clinical and Pracsoft (or similar clinical software) and relevant software applications
  • WWC Check
  • Police Check / International Police Check
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to people from a diverse range of social cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Passion for making a difference in the community

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities

Youll be working within an appropriately equipped consulting space to provide high quality assessment and care.

  • Provide initial clinical contact with all patients who attend for assessment whether they have pre-booked appointment or walk-in to the service
  • Triage all patients in accordance with UCC clinical practice guidelines in conjunction with GP on duty and discuss clinical presentations with the General Practitioners
  • Liaise with Ambulance Victoria the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department Nurse on Call and Maternal Child Health Nurse
  • Monitor patients and reassess / escalate triage where required
  • Maintain effective patient flow with demand management
  • Ensure compliance with policies procedures and standards
  • In collaboration with the General Practitioners and clinic staff organise referrals to internal and external organisations
  • Provide advice and information about additional services available from AccessHC and the wider community (e.g. for acute and chronic disease management)
  • Provide a courteous friendly and efficient service to all clients
