Mission Statement of the Office of State Fire Marshal: To uphold the law and provide for the protection of life and property from the hazards of fire or explosion to ensure the safety of our citizens in the constructed environment to provide equal access to disabled individuals and to promote the efficient use of energy in commercial buildings. This position is located inEnforcement--Area 3 and only open to permanent State Fire Marshal employees. Domicile will be within Area 3 territory.

Six years of experience in a criminal justice field arson/criminal/fire investigations or inspections a fire service field building codes enforcement a building construction field architecture occupational safety or an engineering field; OR
An associates degree in any field plus five years of experience in a criminal justice field arson/criminal/fire investigations or inspections a fire service field building codes enforcement a building construction field architecture occupational safety or an engineering field; OR
An associates degree in a criminal justice field a fire service field a construction field architecture or an engineering field plus four years of experience in a criminal justice field arson/criminal/fire investigations or inspections a fire service field building codes enforcement a building construction field architecture occupational safety or an engineering field; OR
A bachelors degree in any field plus three years of experience in a criminal justice field arson/criminal/fire investigations or inspections a fire service field building codes enforcement a building construction field architecture occupational safety or an engineering field; OR
A bachelors degree in a criminal justice field a fire service field a building construction field architecture occupational safety or an engineering field plus two years of experience in a criminal justice field arson/criminal/fire investigations or inspections a fire service field building codes enforcement a building construction field architecture occupational safety or an engineering field.
