ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to Associate Counsel the Assistant Administration & Transfers is responsible for supporting the Coordinator Administration & Transfers in transferring players both domestically and internationally reconciling invoices and budgets in addition to being a point of contact for transfer inquiries.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL MISSION OF HOCKEY CANADA

  • Coordinate and process incoming/outgoing player transfers within timeframes mandated by the International Ice Hockey Federation;

  • Process incoming/outgoing international tours and tournaments requests;

  • Answer general inquiries related to transfers from Members and the general public;

  • Reconcile end-of-season invoicing for international transfers Inter-Member Transfers tours and tournaments;

  • Update job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities;

  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

EXPERIENCE YOULL NEED

  • Post-Secondary education in related field

  • 2 years experience in an administrative role or dealing with the general public

  • Proficient communication skills excellent writing and editing skills; ability to use a broad range of communication techniques to effectively communicate to varying audiences in a variety of situations

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow ensure the completion of essential projects and meet deadlines

  • High level of integrity; earns others trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Programs Outlook and ability to quickly adapt to new technology and easily acquire new technical skills

  • Ability to work staggered hours evenings and weekends as necessary

  • Strong preference for bilingualism or in the absence of same open to working towards gained proficiency.
