Action Behavior Centers a leading behavioral health organization for children with autism based out of Austin Texas is looking for a professional energetic organized and driven advocate to join our team in a Teammate and client family focused role to help support and collaborate with teammates and leaders in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy world.We are seeking a Family Advocate a teammate who will act as a liaison between our organization and the parents/guardians of our patients to drive internal communication on-going support and Autism advocacy. We are seeking a candidate with excellent communication skills a passion for helping and supporting children and a strong knowledge of the resources available to families with children diagnosed with autism. Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as a point of contact between our organization and families with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder fostering and maintaining relationships with the families that we serve or have served.
- Develop relationships with community organizations and schools to promote an understanding and commitment to ABCs mission to provide excellent quality therapy to children in need.
- Conduct outreach to parents and raise awareness of Action Behavior Centers mission values and expertise in providing ABA therapy services.
- Organize events and workshops for families of children diagnosed with autism to inform them of ABCs services and other resources available to them.
- Serve as an advocate for families of children diagnosed with autism ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.
- Gather information and testimonials; provide process improvement activities related to increasing and maintaining family and parent success commitment and satisfaction.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements- Bachelors degree required (preferred in Public Relations Operations or Business Human Resources Social Work or related field and 1 years of community engagement or relations experience)
- Strong familiarity with the resources available to families with children diagnosed with autism and the ABA services that Action Behavior Centers provides.
- Ability to travel within designated regions and across regions as required.
- Travel requirement of two to three weeks at a time during campaign surges.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required / Preferred- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; ability to foster a cooperative work environment and work collaboratively and empathically with others.
- Strong critical thinking and judgment skills; ability to develop strong preliminary investigative questions and use judgment skill to make assessments and ask the right follow up questions.
- Strong sense of empathy and compassion for the families you serve.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to speak Spanish not required but preferred
