Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a leader with a strong technical background in Application/Tools Development and a passion for people management and technology innovation.
Lead a team of 56 developers to deliver IT tools applications and services supporting core application development teams.
Support the execution of the technical strategy and IT execution plan.
Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and define technical delivery plans with internal IT and vendor teams.
Ensure timely on-budget and high-quality delivery of technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
Manage a mixed team of internal and external resources ensuring effective delivery and collaboration.
Review and approve vendor deliverables for adherence to defined quality standards through detailed technical reviews and feedback. Serve as a people manager within the Digital Engineering division fostering growth and team engagement
Experience and Qualifications
Programming Languages/Frameworks: OpenAPI Swagger GenAI GitHub Copilot LLMs.
Web Technologies: Angular or equivalent.
Databases: SQL / NoSQL.
Containers: Docker LXC Podman (any).
Orchestration: Kubernetes Docker Compose.
Protocols: Strong knowledge of SOAP & RESTful APIs.
API Management: APIGEE APIM API Gateway or equivalents.
Messaging Systems: RabbitMQ Azure Service Bus Azure Event Grid SQS SNS or equivalents.
Code Quality Tools: SonarQube Fortify or equivalents.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication time management adaptability and quick learning.
Languages: Japanese (N2 / Business-level & above) English (Business fluency).
10 years in project delivery and management.
Proven people management experience (teams of 26 members or more). Strong decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in the insurance domainlife commercial or consumer lines preferred.
Background in managing transformation programs improving efficiency and integrating business units.
Demonstrated ability to deliver complex programs aligned with business goals.
