The First Nation School Board (FNSB) was established in February 2022. Our main office is located in Whitehorse Yukon on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Taan Kwächän Council. FNSB serves and works in partnership with Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation Liard First Nation Ross River Dena Council Champagne and Aishihik First Nation White River First Nation Taan Kwächän Council Kwanlin Dün First Nation Selkirk First Nation Carcross/Tagish First Nation and Kluane First Nation for the schools and Learners on their territories.
Our approach to instruction programming and operations promotes reconciliation by being grounding in Yukon First Nations values of student-centered strengths-based and community-led. Board-run schools are for all Yukon students.
For more information on the First Nation School Board please visit Community Committees Advisor empowers school communities across Yukon in assuming responsibility and authority over the operation of their school and their childrens education. The Advisor will be savvy with both policy development and effective community engagement. They will be the diplomatic liaison guiding and advising the legal capabilities and processes of Community Committees in the Yukon. Above all the Advisor will be an expert in relationship development and will have experience working with First Nation governments.

We seek applicants with considerable experience building strong and trusting relationships with partners while providing strategic advice and guidance. Comfort in the unknown and a desire to create new processes paired with expertise in interpreting and applying legislation regulations and policy will support the you to be successful in this role. Regular travel throughout the Yukon is a requirement of the position.
