Skills and Competencies
Experience with financial data and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. Basel IFRS US GAAP) to ensure compliance and integrity of Moodys financial templates
Understanding principles of credit analysis of corporate banks or insurance companies and associated financial metrics
Understanding of data governance frameworks and principles including data quality metadata management and data lineage
Working knowledge in data management tools and platforms (e.g. Databricks Collibra or similar)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data structures in financial reporting
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across business and technology teams
Education
Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Data Science Information Management or related field
Preferred: Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g. CFA DAMA etc)
Responsibilities
Contribute and maintain data governance policies standards and controls for financial data domains
Monitor and enhance financial data quality metrics ensuring accuracy consistency and compliance across Moodys products
Collaborate with external data providers and internal teams to maintain and enhance financial templates aligned with new regulatory standards (e.g. IFRS 18)
Partner with business units and technology teams to define and administer financial data monitoring and accountability frameworks
Oversee metadata management and data lineage tracking to ensure transparency and traceability of Moodys financial data
Ensure financial data integrity and relevant documentation to support sales and AI enablement and data acquisition strategy
Act as a subject matter expert for external and internal clients explaining how financial data flows through our products and its aggregation and mapping principles
About the Team
Our Financial Data Governance team is part of Data Estate segment and responsible for ensuring the integrity quality and compliance of Moodys critical financial data assets
We contribute to Moodys by:
Enabling trusted data for financial and credit analytics AI enablement and regulatory reporting
Supporting data quality management through robust governance frameworks and guidelines
Answering analytical questions from clients on financial data and verifying its integrity and spreading accuracy
Interacting with financial information providers on data quality and spreading guidelines
Managing and building new financial templates to reflect customer needs and changing regulatory reporting standards
Supporting financial data acquisition strategy to enhance client outreach and product functionality
