The Lone Tree Arts Center (LTAC) is a vibrant hub for arts and culture offering a rich blend of creative expression and community engagement. The Lone Tree Arts Center produces award-winning theatrical productions while also presenting nationally and internationally recognized touring artists. Under the general direction of the Arts Center Production Manager this part-time position serves as Stage Carpenter in the building and installation of scenic elements of performance and theatrical productions of the Lone Tree Arts Center a multidisciplinary multi-venue presenting facility that includes a 500-seat proscenium theatre; a 200-seat multi-purpose space; and a 300-seat outdoor amphitheater.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safe and proper operations of tools and technical theatrical equipment of the Arts Center.
- Assist Technical Director and Head Carpenter to build all scenic production elements in accordance with design and safety specifications for all LTAC performances and productions.
Assist with loading in maintaining and repairing and striking scenery for productions.
Duties may be modified added or deleted at the discretion of the Arts Center Production Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Stage carpentry and demonstrated light-duty maintenance/repair skills. Construction and/or finish carpentry experience may be considered.
- Previous build/run experience in an arts discipline preferred.
- Ability to maintain irregular and/or extended working hours.
- Ability to lift push or pull objects up to 100 pounds using appropriate tools.
- Demonstrated personal effectiveness credibility thoroughness flexibility and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated effort to continually improve operations decrease turnaround times streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
Commitment to teamwork leading by example and maintaining a positive and customer-focused work environment.
Three plus years of progressive professional technical theatre experience desired preferably in a multi-venue arts center or in a touring environment- Training on and experience with a wide range of theatrical equipment systems including lighting sound audio/visual and rigging OR equivalent carpentry experience.
