Job Summary

Audio Engineers are members of the Edgar Stanton Audio Recording Center (ESARC) team. This team records most performances for the eight-week summer festival provides live sound reinforcement for concerts and assists with livestreamed events. ESARC staff work under the supervision of the Director of Audio and Media Production and under the Head of Live Audio on live sound calls.


Responsibities

  • Record a wide variety of performing ensembles encompassing symphonic orchestras recitals chamber ensembles operas and choral groups and new music ensembles in a variety of Festival venues.
  • Provide live sound reinforcement at festival venues including work installing speaker systems patching inputs managing wireless frequencies and mixing at front of house and monitor consoles.
  • Participate in livestreamed video production of concerts including camera operation score reading graphics and stream monitoring.
Requirements
  • Engineers should have experience and training in recording and editing classical music and/or providing sound reinforcement for a variety of music genres.
  • Applicants must have or be pursuing a degree in audio lieu of a degree 1-3 years of professional experience will be considered acceptable.
  • A positive attitude attention to detail good organization and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Pro Tools and Reaper DAWs is preferred. Experience in multiple other DAWs will be considered.
  • Livestreaming utilizes Aja encoders Vimeo hosting cameras by Canon and BlackMagic Design switchers.
  • A background or familiarity with classical music performance or composition is preferred.
  • Commitment to a team effort throughout the course of the summer program especially in high pressure environments.
  • Ability to follow prescribed guidelines for recording and sound reinforcement.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States be able to lift boxes up to 50 lbs or greater weights in tandem with other crew members and have a valid drivers license.

Compensation

$18/hour plus housing provided by AMFS (valued at a minimum of $5.16/hour depending on location.) Overtime $27/hour

Benefits include AMFS season pass and paid sick time.
