Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville Georgia as they search for their next Associate Pastor of Music. The Associate Pastor of Music plays a key pastoral and leadership role working closely with the Senior Pastor and church staff to plan coordinate and shepherd a comprehensive music ministry that supports the churchs mission to love God and all people to assemble ourselves together for praise and worship and to reach and teach people to become disciples of Christ.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Associate Pastor of Music will lead a broad multi-generational music ministry that includes worship choir senior adult choir childrens choirs orchestra handbells praise band and various ensembles. The church highly values worship as a core part of its identity and seeks a leader who can build on a strong foundation while helping unify the congregation through a blended worship style.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan coordinate and evaluate a comprehensive church music program including choir orchestra praise band handbells and children/youth music groups.

Lead and prepare worship services in partnership with the Senior Pastor including congregational worship and special services.

Enlist equip and supervise music ministry volunteers and accompanists.

Oversee scheduling rehearsals music selection and performance preparation for all groups.

Supervise audio/video ministries and collaborate with staff on worship production.

Provide pastoral care through visitation prayer and participation in church-wide ministry.

Administer the music ministry budget and maintain music equipment and resources.

Participate actively in staff meetings leadership team meetings and church planning.
