Job Summary
The Supervisor Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab provides leadership and oversight for daily operations of the assigned functions. This role ensures safe efficient and high-quality patient care in accordance with hospital policies regulatory standards and evidence-based practice. The supervisor coordinates staffing scheduling and workflow; manages equipment and supplies; collaborates with physicians nurses and technologists to deliver optimal outcomes for diagnostic and interventional radiological cardiovascular and EP procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Hire onboard and manage the performance of assigned IR/Cath Lab staff ensuring proper training and competency.
- Oversees scheduling of procedures patient flow and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and throughput.
- Maintain compliance with state and regulatory standards
- Identify opportunities for improvement in departmental operational practices policies and procedures and take action to inform or make appropriate changes within scope of authority.
- Develop and manage the department schedule and on-call schedule and provide call coverage in the rotation.
- Manage inventory and ensure the availability of materials supplies and equipment for scheduled or add on procedures.
- Serve as a preceptor for new hires or transfers to the department and provide job specific training as assigned.
- Perform the duties and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse for IR EP or Cardiac Cath procedures as needed or required.
- Collaborate with physicians and leadership on quality improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: Associate of Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelors degree from an accredited school of Nursing
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: One (1) year nursing experience
- Preferred: One (1) year of cardiac cath or interventional radiology experience
License/Certification Requirements
- Registered Nursing license valid to practice in the state of Indiana
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association
