Job Description: Safety SuperintendentIndustry: Cement ManufacturingReports To: Safety ManagerLocation: Insert LocationEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewThe Safety Superintendent is responsible for supporting and advancing all aspects of the plants safety health and compliance programs. This role works closely with the Safety Manager and operational leadership to ensure a safe compliant and risk-aware work environment across all position is designed for long-term growth: the successful candidate will enter as a Safety Superintendent with the future potential to transition into a Safety Manager role based on performance leadership and demonstrated QualificationsBachelors Degree (4-year requirement) in Occupational Safety & Health Environmental Science Industrial Hygiene Engineering or a related experience as a Safety Professional (manufacturing heavy industrial mining cement aggregates or similar industries preferred).Strong knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations including Part 46/48 hazard recognition plant safety incident investigation and industrial safety communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levelsfrom hourly employees to senior to work in a heavy industrial environment including climbing stairs walking long distances and entering confined spaces (following safety protocols).Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Program LeadershipSupport the development implementation and continuous improvement of plant safety policies procedures and training in managing regulatory compliance programs (OSHA MSHA EPA) and ensure reporting requirements are or assist with site inspections audits risk assessments JHAs and behavior-based safety & Employee DevelopmentDeliver safety training onboarding programs toolbox talks and annual refresher training in coordination with the Safety supervisors crew leads and employees on safe work practices proper use of PPE and regulatory as an internal resource for safety education hazard mitigation and continuous Prevention & ResponseParticipate in incident investigations root cause analysis corrective action development and and analyze safety metrics and trends; partner with leadership to reduce risk and prevent emergency response planning drills and readiness & DocumentationMaintain accurate safety records training logs inspection reports and regulatory the Safety Manager in preparing compliance reports filings and regulatory contractor compliance with plant safety standards and site access & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of industrial safety best communication presentation and training attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical to influence guide and support safe behavior across a diverse mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive PathThis position is intentionally structured for growth. The selected candidate will work closely with the Safety Manager to develop skills technical knowledge and leadership depth necessary for future advancement into a Safety Manager role contingent on performance and organizational EnvironmentCement manufacturing plant environment with exposure to dust noise vibrations high elevations rotating equipment and temperature be able to wear required PPE including respirators hard hats hearing protection and other safety equipment.
