The Superintendent of Transmission & Distribution will direct and oversee the construction inspection and maintenance of overhead and underground AC and DC distribution systems and equipment and related projects and activities. The Superintendent of Transmission & Distribution will be responsible for developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of area maintenance programs and services and coordinate with other Authority departments with regards to the design of all construction projects.
Supervise a technical and professional staff of approximately 120 employees
Responsible for all aspects of personnel management including recruitment promotions directing performance discipline evaluation and training activities
Create position descriptions and justifications
Institute safety and training programs for area personnel
Ensure that all inventory levels equipment and facilities under their control are protected in a safe operating condition
Prepare administer monitor and/or audit the annual division budget
Respond to each inquiry whether from a customer vendor or co-worker in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the Authoritys Driven by Customer Service quality standard
Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and to assist at emergencies and/or events as needed.
Either directly or through subordinates respond to emergencies on a twenty-four (24) hour seven (7) day per week basis
Establish an effective interface between management and employees and when necessary with union representatives
Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees
Assist in the management of a workforce by ensuring the fair and consistent application and strict adherence to the rules regulations collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and policies of the Authority including the EEO Anti- Discrimination and Anti-Harassment and Anti-Retaliation policies
Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned

A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution
Seven (7) years of experience in power or electrical maintenance
One (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity
Experience with AC and DC distribution systems
Effective organizational analytical confidentiality multi-tasking time management and interpersonal skills
The ability to use Word Excel Database PeopleSoft or Main Frame applications
Be able to handle sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner
Have excellent customer service conflict resolution writing and speaking skills
Have a valid drivers license
Have the ability to work any and all shifts and/or locations as assigned or directed
Be available to work twenty-four (24) hours per day seven (7) days per week
Have the ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
