PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 47700 - 51150 per annum depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Wales TV Presentation is responsible for the transmission of BBC One Wales BBC Two Wales and S4C from Central Square in Cardiff turning the schedules into tv channels 365 days of the year from early until late.
The Operations Coordinator for TV Presentation is crucial to the smooth running of the department. They work closely with S4C and BBC colleagues to ensure transmission requirements are accurately planned and make effective efficient and resilient use of the staff and technical facilities
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
Youll be working in a live continuous transmission environment as a key member of the lead team. Youll be working with the Announcer/Directors Schedule Planners and Technicians to deliver the best possible output to our audiences whenever theyre watching.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in the transmission of our three TV channels by:
- Managing the team rotas.
- Providing bespoke training along with technical and operational documentation.
- Working closely with commissioning scheduling and marketing colleagues in the BBC and S4C to ensure the smooth planning and transmission of the TV schedules.
- Monitoring reporting and investigating any on-air issues and ensuring lessons are learned quickly and effectively.
- Assisting the Head of Presentation in the longer-term planning development and deployment of technical resources for both regular programming and special events.
- Undertaking operational work covering transmission shifts on all three TV channels as and when required.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience of leading a team delivering a project production or service.
- Experience of working collaboratively with technical engineering and creative colleagues.
- Experience of managing a 365-day rota.
- Experience of working in a radio studio tv gallery or on live events with minimal supervision.
- Experience of working within strict editorial guidelines - OFCOM or similar - demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
