Summary:

The purpose of this position is to carry out assigned duties primarily focused on material handling within the MBZ department but support all departmental needs as business demands require.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Deliver materials systematically and physically to various locations within the plant in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read understand and execute daily pick lists.
  • Counts and examines items for conformance to company specifications.
  • Verify accuracy of inventory by count location and item.
  • Must be able to operate handheld scanners or tablets and perform all required transactions.
  • Must be able to operate a side loader.
  • Unloads & examines incoming shipments rejects damaged items records shortages & corresponds with the profile group to rectify damages & shortages.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from profile pallets by hand.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees.
  • Job requires constant lifting in excess 20 pounds.
  • Job requires stooping bending & kneeling.
  • Employees must be able to stand for a minimum of twelve (12) hours.
  • Operate a stand upside loader to move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED (minimum)
  • Ability to recognize similarities and differences between profiles
  • Ability to add & subtract multiply divide.
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures and transactions
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Be vigilant about safety
  • Quality - conscious oriented to excellence

Travel Requirements:

The travel required for this position is 1%.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. An individual may be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
