PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Live Event Manager leads the editorial and event production planning for BBC Radio events across the popular music stations. Youll help ensure every event runs smoothly safely and to the highest editorial standardsbringing unforgettable experiences to audiences. This role will lead a small project team in the logistics production and stakeholder communications while championing inclusivity sustainability and financial accountability.
The Event Manager is responsible for the planning organising broadcast requirements of events across the popular music stations. Youll a lead project team delivering Popular Music events flagship Live Music events such as Radio 1s Big Weekend Radio 2 in the Park 6 Music Festival and Asian Network Certified. Youll support the strategic long-term planning for the events for BBC Radio Network to align with BBCs overall objectives brand alignment and network goals. This includes finding venues assessing the logistical feasibility audience and production requirements.
For Radio 1s Big Weekend and Radio 2 In the Park the assigned Event Manager will collaborate closely with the Festival Production Executive to ensure seamless integration of broadcast elements and coordination of broadcast teams across the festival site. The Festival Production Executive will lead and oversee the strategic planning event site production management and stakeholder coordination.
While Event Managers may deliver events across multiple radio networks they will also have responsibility for the day-to-day management of an assigned Radio networks event calendar. They will oversee its delivery and task-manage Event Coordinators on small to medium events within this calendar.
