Description
The GTT Unit Manager regulates and supervises the terminal with Ground Transportation and Linehaul Unit Manager is responsible for planning organizing controlling and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of a small to medium sized terminal which is measured by the following KPIs: Safety Productivity Service and Revenue.
Responsibilities
- Manage a group of unionized employees specifically Linehaul Drivers
- Create a positive work environment building employee loyalty and a team atmosphere
- Responsible for achieving objectives as outlined in the operational scorecardwithin the GTT linehaul operations
- Responsible for managing performance of employees as per operational standards and indiceswithin the GTT linehaul operations
- Improve operational standards through reviews of employee performance coaching counseling and recognition
- Responsible for communicating and implementing policy procedure or programs
- Responsible for completing a variety of reports and documents
- All other related and assigned duties
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of AZ/Tractor-Trailer regulations laws and industry practices
- Operational experience in the transportation/logistics industry
- Minimum 1-2years of experience managing large unionized teams
- Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication innovation change management relationship building and leadership
- Energetic Leader with strong motivation skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to coordinate a wide variety of duties and responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
