Job Summary

NON-NEGOTIABLE STARTING SALARY IS $70000. Additional Referendum money is available for the remainder of this year and next year averaging $4000 for afull year and prorated for this year.

This position does not have a remote work option.

Job Summary

Plans and carries out district-based staffing and assists in recruitment of teachers. Screens interviews staffs and monitors specialists school and district-based administrator positions including principals assistant principals coordinators supervisors and directors. Maintains listings of vacancies and coordinates procedures for staffing district departments and school-based administrators including budgeting principal forums and the interview process. Regularly prepares presentations and data for large scale consumption (Public and the Board) and supports the Executive Director of Staffing.

Essential Functions

1. Collaborates with hiring managers to plan schedule and facilitate interviews for District Administrative positions. Reviews individual candidate applications for interview & hiring eligibility.

2. Leads recruitment teams on travel and other recruitment events.

3. Works with district Cabinet members during the budgeting and non-reappointment process participating in and leading meetings related to these items.

4. Collaborates with the Division of Schools and school-based administrators for the planning and facilitation of school Principal selection process. Collects and disaggregates forum stakeholder feedback data for presentation to district leadership.

5. Prepares agenda items revises Job Descriptions and provides support for submissionof required Board Agenda items and transaction lists.

6. Collaborates with the Executive Director of Staffing to compile and disaggregate data and prepare reports and presentations for district leadership and the DCPS Board.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Masters degree preferred.

Experience: Three (3) years experience in school administration or human resources with experience in staffing preferred.

Certifications & Licenses: NA

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of Human Resource related laws regulations policies and collective bargaining agreements
  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles practices procedures methods and theories
  • Knowledge of certification and highly qualified regulations and requirements for school and district administrators
  • Process workflow and procedure design skills
  • Strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong word processing spreadsheet and presentation software skills to include EXCEL Sharepoint Powerpoint and Canva
  • Human Resource Information Systems skills (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to develop and recommend personnel and educational policies and procedures related to staffing
  • Ability to develop monitor and evaluate recruiting procedures
  • Ability to interpret union contracts
