Summary:
The Financial Aid Coordinator must demonstrate the following:
- Responsible for administering and coordinating all Title IV State and Institutional financial aid programs.
- Responsible for implementation of financial aid policies and procedures coordination of financial aid programs and counseling of current and prospective students.
Job Goal: To ensure compliance with federal state and university regulations develop and administer policies and procedures analyzes practices to enhance service supervise staff and providesfinancial aidcounseling to students.
Essential Job Functions:
- Counseling with student and parents concerning financial aid including the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Loan Applications and Franklin Technology Center Financial Aid Application.
- Requesting required documentation from student/parent to complete a students Financial Aid file.
- Administering all types of financial aid for students including determining the amount of award validation of data processing awards and coordinating awards.
- Conducting financial aid workshops if needed.
- Attending federal state and other workshops to keep current on regulations policies and procedures.
- Determining need for and submission of financial aid transcripts as required.
- Providing pre-loan counseling to students with Federal Direct Student Loans and notifying lenders and/or agencies when students graduate or cease to be enrolled full- time.
- Providing Entrance & Exit Counseling to students who have received loans and have graduated or dropped from their program.
- Monitor grades and attendance as required for determining satisfactory academic progress.
- Prepare required federal reports (Gainful Employment Net Price Calculator IPEDS etc.)
- Entry batching sending and receiving electronic data via federal and state websites.
- Reconciling electronic files with the Department of Education.
- Cooperating with various outside organizations which provide student funding: WIOA Vocational Rehabilitation Veteran Affairs etc.
- Maintaining Student Financial Aid Records-Current as well as five years previous.
- Reviewing FTCs policy and procedure manual and all institutional forms on an annual basis to update information. The director of the institution will review what the FA coordinator updated.
- Reviewing student handbook and consumer information annually to update information. The director of the institution will review what the FA coordinator updated.
- Ordering and maintaining financial aid materials.
- Calculating state awards and requesting funds via state website (i.e. A and Access MO).
- Participating in and/or directing federal and state audits for FTC Adult Education.
- Following federal and state financial aid protocol.
- Other duties as assigned.
