Job Summary

Summary Statement

This position presents educational programs for hunter education. This position interacts with the public assists with special events and helps develop new educational programs and educational materials. Job duties also include assisting with the care and maintenance of firearms and hunting related equipment. Work may be performed outdoors under various weather conditions.

Essential Functions

Performs assignments with supervisor guidance and feedback
Researches and develops new educational programs
Modifies existing educational programs
Prepares interpretive materials and other educational materials
Manages program participants with assistance from intern or other seasonal employees with minimal supervision
Presents educational programs
Participates in special events and outreach activities
May assist with drafting social media posts
May oversee the work of volunteers and interns
Assists with training and providing guidance for new seasonal staff interns and volunteers
Assists with facility cleaning and organization
Must be able to demonstrate responsibility dependability and good communication skills.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Hunter Education Naturalist III

Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
working with adults such as academic/athletic tutoring camp counselor youth volunteer classroom assistant or education teacher.
in using standard computer software programs for word processing Excel or Publisher.
with public speaking or interpretation.
with hunting/trapping firearms and archery equipment.
of a valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.

Criminal background check:A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
