Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VDI Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in the design implementation and support of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions with a focus on Citrix and/or VMware platforms. The VDI Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring seamless virtual desktop experiences for end-users while maintaining security reliability and scalability of the environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design deploy and manage VDI environments (Citrix VMware Horizon or similar platforms) in accordance with organizational needs and industry best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess end-user requirements and translate them into efficient VDI solutions.

Perform regular system maintenance upgrades patch management and performance tuning for VDI infrastructure.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to connectivity performance application delivery and user access within the VDI environment.

Develop and maintain documentation relating to architecture configuration operational procedures and user support.

Implement and monitor security protocols to safeguard virtual desktop environments and sensitive data.

Provide advanced support and escalate critical issues to vendors as needed.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in virtual desktop infrastructure.

Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for VDI systems.

Offer training and technical guidance to IT staff and end-users as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.

3 years of professional experience in deploying and managing VDI solutions (Citrix VMware Horizon or similar).

In-depth understanding of virtualization networking Active Directory and storage systems.

Strong knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems.

Experience with VDI security best practices including authentication access control and data protection.

Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell etc.).

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

US residency required; applications from non-US residents will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Citrix Certified Associate VMware Certified Professional).

Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions (Azure Virtual Desktop AWS WorkSpaces etc.).

Familiarity with enterprise mobility management (EMM) tools.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary: $95000 - $125000 based on experience and qualifications
