This role includes performing routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes and inspections as well as complex repairs on diesel engines hydraulics electrical systems and other components. Mechanics use specialized tools and diagnostic software to troubleshoot problems and they must maintain detailed service duties Perform routine and preventative maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections oil changes lubrication fluid level checks and tire rotations. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues: Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to identify problems in mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems. Repair and replace parts: Disassemble repair or replace worn or malfunctioning components like pistons injectors transmissions and brakes. Work on complex systems: Repair and maintain major systems including engines electrical systems cooling systems and exhaust systems. Conduct safety and emissions inspections: Perform safety checks to ensure vehicles meet regulations. Test and adjust equipment: Test-drive or operate repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and make final and qualifications Mechanical and technical expertise: Strong understanding of diesel engines and heavy equipment mechanics. Diagnostic skills: Ability to use diagnostic tools and computer software to identify issues.
