Performs a wide variety of duties associated with student health. Provides assistance with administrative duties as assigned.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provides a variety of medication administration support.
Administers and documents daily medications to students.
Orders and maintains school Health Room supplies.
Maintains student health records.
Coordinates and participates in the Emergency Response Team.
Brings school emergency box to drills/building emergencies.
Prepares med bags and allergy forms for field trips.
Coordinates with parents or guardians on health needs of student referred to the Health Room during school hours.
Provides basic first aid.
Contacts and follows up with parents or guardian on medication action plans and medication refills.
Supports multiple educational building locations.
Provides administrative office support.
Performs general administrative functions as needed.
Greets visitors and staff in person or via telephone determines their needs and directs them to the appropriate person or office.
Completes expense reports as needed.
Completes departmentally specific administrative tasks as applicable per area of responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong organizational skills.
Detail oriented.
High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of PC software applications with an advanced ability to utilize Windows-based programs and Microsoft Office including PowerPoint Excel and Word.
Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.
Ability to work independently prioritize projects meet deadlines and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
Ability to type accurately and proficiently at a high rate of speed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one year of administrative or clerical experience required.
Have or the ability to obtain CPR and first aid within 90 days of transfer or hire required.

Must have sufficient vision hearing speech and the mobility to monitor youth actively participate in safety procedures and participate in physical activities with youth. Ability to reach overhead bend and squat with ease.Work is typically in a normal educational school administrative or classroom environment involving but may be performed in a variety of environments ranging from highly stressful and potentially aggressive (physical interventions escorts etc.) to casual and leisurely in both indoor and outdoor settings. While performing the duties of this job may be subject to outside weather conditions occasionally. Includes constant interruptions inappropriate behaviors and the potential for verbal and physical threats from youth.
