Backend Engineer (High-Performance Trading Infrastructure)

Location: Singapore (Hybrid)

Compensation: $80K - $140K

We are a specialized prime brokerage focused on building robust institutional-grade infrastructure for large-scale algorithmic trading on a leading platform. We are seeking an exceptional Backend Engineer to build the core infrastructure powering our services utilizing cutting-edge technologies to meet institutional demands for speed and reliability.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-performance distributed systems TEEs (Trusted Execution Environments) advanced cryptography and next-generation smart contracts.

You will be responsible for designing implementing and optimizing the core backend services and blockchain components that enable institutional-grade algorithmic trading. Your work will directly contribute to building systems with the highest standards for performance security and low latency.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Implementation: Design and implement highly performant reliable backend services primarily using Rust.
• Smart Contract Development: Build and optimize smart contracts focusing on the underlying execution environment (HyperEVM).
• Low-Latency Systems: Develop real-time trading infrastructure with strict sub-millisecond latency requirements.
• Architecture & Design: Collaborate closely with a world-class team on defining protocol architecture and high-level distributed system design.
• Technology Focus: Work with advanced technologies including Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and privacy-preserving cryptography.

Key Technologies You Will Utilize

• Languages: Rust (primary) Solidity
• Concepts: Privacy-Preserving Cryptography High-Performance Distributed Systems
• Domain: Trading infrastructure and decentralized execution environments (HyperEVM)

• Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in Rust and systems programming.
• Performance: Proven experience with building or maintaining high-performance low-latency systems.
• Domain Exposure: Exposure to high-throughput trading systems (e.g. exchanges market makers or other financial infrastructure).
• Blockchain Knowledge: A solid understanding of blockchain technology and experience with smart contract development (ideally Solidity or equivalent).
• Systems Complexity: Ability to architect implement and work effectively on complex distributed systems.
• Mindset: Passionate about building robust secure and highly scalable infrastructure.

• Equity/Token Ownership: Significant direct ownership in the company via an equity/token grant ranging from 0.2% to 0.5% reflecting the critical importance of this infrastructure role.
• Technology: Work at the forefront of crypto infrastructure utilizing cutting-edge technologies like Rust TEEs and next-generation execution environments.
• Impact: Direct influence over the performance and reliability of institutional-grade algorithmic trading.
