Job Summary

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic talented and inspiring Music Teacher to join a high-achieving and forward-thinking secondary school in Oxford. This is a full-time permanent position starting January 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate) with a TLR available for applicants who can offer leadership ensemble direction curriculum development or whole-school musical coordination.

About the Music Department

The department delivers excellent outcomes at KS3 and GCSE and there is appetite to expand A-Level Music with the right leadership inputmaking the available TLR particularly attractive.

About the Role
As the schools Music Teacher your responsibilities will include:
Teaching Music across KS3KS4 with KS5 available for suitable candidates
Planning and delivering ambitious engaging and creative lessons
Leading or supporting ensembles choirs bands or orchestral groups
Preparing students for performances exams and practical assessments
Contributing to concert programmes musicals and community events
Playing an active role in curriculum development and department strategy
Taking on additional responsibilities aligned with the TLR if awarded (e.g. leading performing arts enrichment coordinating peripatetic staff or overseeing extended curriculum activities)

Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Music or a related discipline
PGCE with QTS
Strong performance composition or ensemble direction background
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Ability to inspire students and contribute to the schools wider arts culture
Experience in leading musical groups or projects desirable (TLR consideration)

Salary
Paid to scale MPS/UPS with potential TLR (depending on experience and responsibilities).
