Job Summary
Job Summary (List Format) for CT Technologist (Overnight Shift):
- Position: CT Technologist
- Schedule: Overnights 7:00pm - 7:30am Friday Saturday Sunday (including holidays on call and callback per unit needs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and exam details before scanning ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Coordinate with physicians to facilitate and perform diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Prepare patients for CT scans including providing explanations to ensure patient comfort.
- Insert intravenous (IV) lines when required for imaging tests.
- Position patients appropriately utilizing safe patient handling including moving/lifting those with limited mobility.
- Accurately document and maintain patient records in EPIC; ensure proper identification and transmission of images to the PACS system.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe scanning environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current NYS license (must be obtained prior to starting).
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a CT Technologist.
- Level I Trauma Center experience required.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Experience with Siemens scanners (at least 6 months).
- EPIC experience highly desired (1 year preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Injection certification preferred; must be willing to complete during orientation if not already certified.
- Familiarity with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment preferred.
Required Soft Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Patient compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility for holiday on-call and callback shifts as needed.
- Willingness and ability to obtain TB skin test if required.
