Job Summary

Mammography Technologist Traveler (Days) Position Summary

The Mammography Technologist produces high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography images and DEXA exams in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. The technologist educates patients obtains accurate medical histories and documents all procedures and codes in the electronic medical record. This role requires attention to detail strong patient communication skills and the ability to adapt to varying clinic needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms and DEXA exams.

  • Interact with patients compassionately and professionally reducing anxiety and explaining procedures clearly.

  • Escort patients to procedure rooms and prepare them for imaging.

  • Obtain patient and family medical history relevant to the exam.

  • Perform comparative film reviews and obtain necessary patient signatures.

  • Complete all documentation and billing accurately in the EHR and PACS systems.

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of mammography rooms and radiology equipment.

  • Maintain required job knowledge per all mammography regulatory standards including MQSA.

  • Follow department procedures for timekeeping and workflow.

  • Support imaging needs at multiple clinic locations as assigned.

  • Perform additional duties within scope as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.

  • Current ARRT(R) certification.

  • Current California CRT license with Radiography and Mammography authorizations.

  • Current BLS (AHA) certification.

  • Mammography screening experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with mammography and DEXA imaging equipment.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks manage time efficiently and handle stressful situations professionally.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to changing needs.

Shift Details
  • Day shift Monday Friday.

  • Hours vary based on coverage needs:

  • Traveler contract.

  • 13-week assignment.
