Facilities Plant Electrical Engineer

Company:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Facilities Plant Electrical Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to support the Facilities Maintenance team onsite in Portland Oregon.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops moderately complex conceptual designs final designs cost estimates and provides maintenance support for the electrical phases of buildings equipment installations utility systems and grounds

• Reviews electrical designs to assess compliance with customer requirements building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles practices and materials

• Integrates the activities of multiple engineering disciplines outside consultants and government agencies

• Identifies errors and documents construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements facility standards and record retention requirements

• Manages or supports construction projects by providing input on vendor selection; reviews contractor proposals; interfaces with government/regulatory agencies; monitors project progress and vendor/consultant performance

• Prepares and presents project information to ensure compliance with applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements and to meet project objectives

• Uses appropriate resources to produce project drawings specifications and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters

• Translates customer requirements into design options with documents and estimates

• Identifies appropriate materials equipment and services by applying engineering principles and methodology

• With limited supervision develops and updates design standards and site-specific operating procedures in order to establish common practices

• Provides input to strategic short-term and long-term infrastructure planning; completes studies; analyzes current conditions and future requirements; recommends capital improvements; gathers and analyzes data; and works with both internal and external customers in order to identify and assess alternatives and impacts

• Manages project expenditures within authorized budgets

• Assists in the creation of contract scope

• Ensures suppliers comply with all contract obligations

• Interprets and analyzes applicable regulations standards codes and ordinances with respect to project requirements

• Offers project alternatives in order to assure compliance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

• 3 years of experience in interpreting electrical engineering drawings schematics and definition

• 3 years of experience in Electrical design; including but not limited to Electrical Systems design Wire Design Electrical Equipment Installation and Wire Installation Design

• 3 years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Level 4: 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Currently possess a Professional Engineer (PE) License

• 5 years of experience leading facility construction projects

• 5 years of experience applying Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other similar rigorous problem/analysis/resolution processes to engineering development and manufacturing/production efforts

• 5 years of experience complying with industry standards including electrical and safety codes

• 3 years of experience developing and managing budgets and/or cost estimates

• 3 years of experience with budgeting and forecasting

• Experience with electrical mechanical and/or structural engineering systems

• The ability to look forward strategically and develop detailed solutions and specifications

Summary Pay Range for Experienced (Level 3): $115200 - 140800

Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 4): $139500 - $170500
