Metro Transit has an exciting career service opportunity in our Market Innovation section within Metros Mobility Division. The Connecting to Transit team is hiring one Associate Transportation Planner (Transportation Planner Il). This team member will support the planning development and implementation of customer-facing programs and projects that increase the number and quality of options that King County residents have to access transit. The Connecting to Transit (C2T) team works within Metro and with regional partners to deliver safe and convenient connections to transit through capital projects programs and partnerships. C2T programs and investments grow ridership connect people to opportunities and support an integrated regional transportation network.
This recruitment will be used to fill 1 Career Service addition this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future Career Service Term Limited Temporary and Special Duty Assignment vacancies that may occur in this classification within the Mobility Division. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

This mission helps Metro and the traveling public navigate an evolving transportation landscape by advancing strategic research and evaluation exploring new connections to transit and expanding mobility options. This team of researchers planners and innovators focuses on using evidence to guide decisions developing new mobility concepts and improving access to transportation.
The Transportation Planner II will join the Connecting to Transit team. Connecting to Transit is a team of five that is responsible for managing programs and services that help people connect to and from transit service including the Safe Routes to Transit Program managing and reimagining Metros park-and-rides as multimodal mobility hubs and serving as access to transit subject matter experts to support capital planning and design projects. The Associate Transportation Planner (Transportation Planner II) will support administration and implementation of C2T initiatives under the guidance of the C2T Program Manager and Sr. Transportation Planners. Work tasks will include administering Metros on-demand bike locker program coordinating responses customer communications administering grant dollars related to Safe Routes to Transit investments both at Metros facilities and in coordination with jurisdictional partners and working with agency and community partners to implement mobility hubs park and ride activations and other multimodal investments that connect people to transit. This is an outstanding opportunity for a high-performing individual to secure an entry-level planning role with one of North Americas premier public transit agencies.

WorkLocation
This is a hybrid position. The main work site for this position is King Street Center 201 S Jackson St. Seattle WA 98104. The team works in a hybrid model with days in the office as well as telecommuting. Currently there will be a minimum of one day per week required in the office. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
