EduTalent Group is delighted to be partnering with an exceptional SEN School in Canterbury to recruit a dedicated and inspiring Class Teacher for a mixed-year group. This role starts in January and is a temp-to-perm opportunity.
You will teach students aged 719 delivering a differentiated curriculum tailored to a range of SEN. Working closely with Teaching Assistants and school leadership you will create a safe inclusive and engaging classroom environment. Your role will support both the academic and emotional development of students including teaching accredited courses up to GCSE level.
Key responsibilities include:
Plan resource and deliver engaging lessons for a range of abilities
Supervise and support Teaching Assistants in the classroom
Promote high standards of behaviour and learning
Assess student progress and set personalised learning targets
Collaborate with leadership on schemes of work and interventions
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Contribute to school culture through supervision and extracurricular activities
Ensure compliance with safeguarding health & safety and behaviour policies
Requirements
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching 719-year-olds
Experience supporting children with a range of SEN
Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
ICT competence and confidence using digital tools
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Desirable:
Experience working in SEN or alternative provision
Knowledge of the Steiner Waldorf curriculum
Experience delivering extracurricular activities
Experience supporting pupils with behavioural challenges
