What youll do

Build enterprise cloud infrastructure that provides European data sovereignty and hyperscaler-grade capabilities. Youll work on SAP Cloud Infrastructure solving complex distributed systems challenges at scale: multi-region networking container orchestration observability and the APIs that connect them.

Youll develop solutions using Go Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies tackling problems like: How do you auto-scale thousands of workloads across clusters How do you build resilient control planes and service meshes How do you design APIs that handle massive traffic spikes

Your work will power SAPs production systems and thousands of customer environments. Youll contribute to infrastructure that enables organizations to run mission-critical applications with the performance and reliability they expect from leading cloud platforms.

In your role as Developer youll contribute to building SAP Cloud Infrastructure through hands-on development of enterprise cloud services that provide European data sovereignty and hyperscaler-grade capabilities. Youll implement features and components for distributed systems that handle significant scale working on Kubernetes orchestration networking and storage solutions that power customer environments.

Youll develop and maintain cloud-native infrastructure components using Go Kubernetes and related CNCF technologies solving practical challenges in multi-region deployments API development and system integration. Your work will involve implementing features for auto-scaling clusters building resilient workloads and creating APIs that handle substantial traffic loads.

Contributing to production systems that serve SAPs customer base youll help build infrastructure that enables organizations to run mission-critical applications with enterprise-grade performance and reliability. Your code will support European organizations in maintaining data sovereignty while accessing powerful cloud capabilities that compete with leading cloud platforms

The position can also be filled in part time.

What you bring

• Programming Mastery: Strong experience developing in Go with a solid understanding of concurrent programming APIs and distributed systems design
• Kubernetes Expertise: Hands-on experience operating and developing for Kubernetes including cluster management workload orchestration and debugging distributed applications in production. CKA CKAD or CKS certification and experience building Kubernetes operators are a strong plus
• Cloud-Native Ecosystem: Familiarity with the broader CNCF landscape (Helm Prometheus Flux Istio etc.) Linux fundamentals and container networking
• Cloud Expertise: Deep familiarity with Kubernetes Docker and multiple major cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) including advanced features and best practices
• Advanced Development Practices: Expertise in Git workflows end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and extensive experience with test-driven development and code reviews
• Growth Mindset: 5 years of software development experience with proven adaptability and a strong focus on continuous learning especially in distributed systems
• Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication abilities and extensive experience leading agile development teams fostering a culture of collaboration and mentorship
• Open Source Contribution: Strong enthusiasm for contributing to open source projects
