Role Overview
Were looking for a Senior Accountant who brings rigor accuracy and curiosity to a fast-moving fintech environment.
Youll be responsible for executing core accounting operations maintaining high-quality financial records and ensuring compliance with Egyptian regulations while helping build the systems and discipline needed for a company preparing for its next growth stage.
This position reports to the Egypt Head of Finance and works closely with colleagues in finance and operations. The Egypt team is part of the global finance team headed by the group CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Handle daily accounting entries and reconciliations for payables receivables and intercompany accounts.
- Prepare journal entries accruals and adjustments in line with IFRS and company policies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing ensuring accurate and timely trial balances and financial statements.
- Manage vendor payments expense claims and bank reconciliations with precision and documentation discipline.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure full compliance with Egyptian tax and regulatory requirements including VAT withholding tax and payroll-related filings.
- Maintain and update accounting data on the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) portal including e-invoicing submissions.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and liaise with auditors during interim and year-end reviews.
- Support preparation of management reports and budget variance analyses for internal review.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Use software tools and platforms (e.g. PO systems accounting software) to maintain data accuracy and process automation.
- Participate in enhancing financial workflows and documentation to meet best-practice standards.
- Help ensure financial data integrity across integrated systems and support periodic data checks or clean-ups.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the business teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Provide clear documentation and support for all finance-related queries.
- Uphold dopays values of accountability transparency and inclusion in all financial dealings.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or Economics.
- 57 years of relevant accounting experience ideally in fintech payments or financial services.
- Sound knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards IFRS basics and tax regulations.
- Practical experience with ETA e-invoicing ERP systems and MS Excel (advanced).
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent English skills including strong verbal written communication skills.
- A self-starter who takes ownership meets deadlines and thrives in a fast-paced mission-driven team.
